Our Missionaries

Eddie & Sarah Ziss

The Philippines
Mabuhay! (Welcome!) We are the Ziss Family to Mindanao, Philippines! The Lord first put the Philippines on our heart in 2016 on a mission trip to teach discipleship to over 300 pastors and their wives. We then continued on other trips for Focal Point, a training with small groups of Filipino pastors to implement one on one discipleship in their local churches and encourage them to continue making disciples.

From 2017-2019, God kept confirming our call. In June/July of 2019 we took our family on a vision tour for two months to our field. This trip would solidify our call to the Philippines seeing the need to plant a strong local church and to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the Filipino people. In January 2022, Freedom Baptist Church - Tagum was founded and in 2024 our new building was completed! Our ministry includes one on one discipleship, establishing a quality Bible institute, church planting, ministry outreaches in unreached areas and community development programs.

Rick & Brenda Osborn

Liberia
Rick and Brenda have been faithfully serving the Lord for over 30 years. Rick has served local Baptist Churches in various areas: Youth Pastor, Assistant Pastor, Associate Pastor, church planting, and pastored the same church for fourteen years before being called to full-time missions.

Brenda has taught at various elementary levels in Christian education for over 27 years.
Through years of ministry and many mission trips, God has well prepared Rick & Brenda to train national pastors and help plant New Testament Baptist Churches in West Africa.

Rick & Brenda have been blessed with three children, two daughters & a son. While it was not always easy growing up in a Pastor’s home, their children loved the Lord, loved the church, and loved the ministry. They all three trusted Christ before the age of five and were very involved in the church while growing up. They attended Christian school, and all graduated from Bible College.

Andrew & Rachael Ong

Southeast Asia
In 2005, Andrew was sent to London, England to assist in mission work there. Through trips back to his home church Midtown Baptist Temple (MBT), he was reacquainted with his friend Rachael who became his wife in 2012.

In the same year, Andrew also became a licensed minister and started Friends of Internationals, a ministry to international students and immigrants. By God’s grace, many students from all over the world came to Christ, were baptized, discipled, and are actively discipling others.

In 2017, Andrew was providentially called to lead a team from his church to Southeast Asia. It was on these trips that God drew him and a group of men and women to answer the call to plant a church there.  God’s Word, hand, and favor were very evident through these recurring trips.

Andrew discipled a young man through regular trips to Southeast Asia and online meetings. Today, this faithful man has completed Discipleship 1 and 2, and is an active student in Living Faith Bible Institute. Along with another female disciple, they are actively winning people to Christ and discipling other younger men and women. Pastor Andrew is trusting God not just for people to be saved but to be sold out to Christ as disciples indeed.  God has been very generous to bless us with several national disciples in the USA and a multi-national team from the US who is willing to go make disciples in Southeast Asia.

In 2023  a local church was planted that will be an Antioch church in Southeast Asia as a model and ensample to others that God is worth all our love, mind, and soul.

John & Cathy Honeycutt

Asia / China
John Honeycutt accepted Jesus Christ as Saviour in 1960 and Cathy in 1971. John went to Asia as a teenager in 1972 as his parents were missionaries. John and Cathy married in 1975 while in Baptist Bible College and have been in the ministry since 1977, being ordained in 1980. They have two daughters and one son, who are all adults.

After ten years of ministry in the USA and responding to God’s calling in 1987 to the Philippines, John and Cathy have planted four churches in Metro Manila, one in Hong Kong, partnered in the USA to start two churches and partnered with over 500 National church planters in Asia to establish churches. World in Need International Baptist Mission is their Mission Agency.

The Mission now consists of three sister organizations established by the Honeycutts with local Pastors to assist the continued church planter, to satisfy government requirements and to provide a secure way to transfer support for new churches. In recent years, “doors” have opened to minister to the Chinese, and they spend most of their time on this focus. They personally plant churches and partner with National Church planters. After being based in Hong Kong for many years, they are making Taiwan the center by establishing a new church there and a new Bible Institute.

John Honeycutt is the author of the “Journey” discipleship lessons used in over 24 countries. In accessible areas, when they start a church, it is with a trained team of nationals that are experienced soul-winners and disciplers.

Brian & Mindy Clark

England
Brian and Mindy Clark along with their four children are church planters in the great city of London. They have been serving there for 20 years and they have successfully planted Crossroads Baptist Church. They are proud to say that, by God’s grace, they have trained up one of the best pastors in Christendom by the name of Paul Waller, a local Londoner, along with his wife Emma and their three boys. The Clarks ordained Paul who now pastors CBC.

In January of 2025 the Clarks will begin their second church plant. Their vision is to plant a network of bible-believing, soul winning, disciple-making, expository preaching, missions-minded churches, from which to train up men and send them out around the world. Their plan is to turn London into a launchpad for world missions.

Tim & Barb Klink

Ohio Prison Ministry
Tim and Barb Klink began Prison Discipleship Ministry on May 14, 2011. We provide Bible study lessons, books, and Bibles to inmates in county jails and state prisons. The Addiction Handbook By Jesus was the first book God allowed Tim to write, and since then over 12,000 copies have been mailed to inmates at no cost to them. Many who receive the books enroll in our Bible study courses, written by Tim. The books were written to answer inmate questions from the Bible. All of the books and lessons are written so everyone can understand them easily.

On September 1, 2014 Tim became the senior Chaplain at Stark County Jail in Canton, Ohio, which is a facility that houses up to 500 inmates, both men and women. God continues to show the inmates His unconditional love for them.

Josh & Denise Steward

Ireland
Josh is a native of Ohio, USA where he attended Southwest Bible College & Seminary and was ordained as a Pastor in 2013 at Canton Baptist Temple.

Josh first visited Ireland in 2010 as part of a team from Canton who came to help run the MBF Summer Holiday Bible Club. Following this experience, he felt the call of the Lord to serve Him in Mallow Co. Cork and spent the next 4 years preparing to make this move. He came to Mallow Bible Fellowship in January 2014 with his wife Denise of sixteen years, and their four children Connor, Chloe, Clark, and Catherine.  He began by taking on responsibility for the youth ministry in the church. In 2015 he was appointed Lead Pastor with overall responsibility for the growth and spiritual development of the church. Pastor Josh spent the next four and a half years establishing and planting the church in Mallow. MBF grew in understanding of God’s Word and numerically under his leadership.

Since then, he felt the call to plant another like-minded Baptist Church in Tralee, Co. Kerry in 2019.

Denise disciples other ladies, has book club studies and leads the women’s ministry at the church.

Derek & Julie Thomas

Ukraine
After graduating from Missouri State University, Derek was married to Julie, and entered the business world while serving in a local church.

Derek’s heart was stirred again and in 1995 he and Julie surrendered to the call of missions. After deputation they moved to Vilnius, Lithuania.  There the Lord allowed them to begin Vilnius Bible Baptist Church and Bible Baptist Institute, a ministry that helped to train lay leaders and pastors in the doctrinal truths of God’s Word.

In July of 2006, Derek sensed the Lord redirecting him and in 2007 the Thomas’ took the leadership as a church plant/re-start at Faith Baptist Church where he pastored for 7 years.  During this time, he became involved with a ministry named Slavic Baptist Institute, a Bible college, located at the Grace Baptist Church in Khmelinsky, Ukraine to train national pastors and workers where he currently serves as President.

In 2022 they started Compassion for Ukraine, a registered charitable fund to meet needs for the many refugees in Ukraine.
